Red Kite

Saturday 26th July 11.00am - I spotted a Red Kite over Cauldcoats this morning.  I thought it was one of our many buzzards at first but then realised it was quite a bit larger and had the distinctive forked tail.  It was being mobbed by crows!  Not sure if it was just passing through or whether the large numbers at Argaty are spilling outwards. Of course I didn't have my camera to hand which was unusual but here's an illustration courtesy of the RSPB as a guide for anyone interested - keep your eyes peeled!!
