Carriden to Blackness - Saturday 25 April. Join us.... Walk to celebrate the linking of our 2 communities along the recently completed Carriden to Blackness pathway (part of the John Muir Way)
Carriden church will be open from 11 am this will give everyone, whether they intend to take part in the full walk or not, the opportunity to have a look round the church. People will be on hand to give visitors information about the area and building.
Tea and coffee will be available.
A mini bus will leave Blackness village at noon and then call in to pick up from Blackness Primary School to transport walkers to Carriden.
Around 12.45pm walkers from Bo'ness and Blackness assemble in the Carriden church car park for setting off for the walk at 1pm.
Tea and coffee will be available at Blackness Boat Club en route to the picnic at the Castle, where a piper will welcome the walkers - bring a packed lunch.
Keith Geddes, chairman of Central Scotland Green Network will deliver a talk on John Muir around 2.30 pm at Blackness Castle
A mini bus will leave Blackness village at 3.30 pm to transport walkers back to Carriden however it is assumed most people will use the path to walk back.
